Volunteering with Books for Development

This October, APALSA members from UH, South Texas College of Law, and attorneys from Bracewell volunteered with Books for Development, an organization run solely on volunteers and donations. Books for Development is dedicated to combating the global book shortage and promoting literacy in developing countries. Together, we helped sort and box donated books that will soon fill libraries around the world—bringing knowledge, opportunity, and the joy of reading to communities in need.

Books for Development hosts volunteer shifts every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, where volunteers help sort and prepare books for shipment to developing nations. Each book sorted becomes part of a growing effort to build libraries that serve as beacons of learning and empowerment for children and adults alike.
