Democracy & Galentines
In February, UH APALSA teamed up with BLSA, LLSA, and AWIL to host a workshop for Girl Scouts and assist them in earning their Democracy Badge. We came together to share what democracy is, explain the voting system in the US, and the young ladies did an exercise where they ran for office. To conclude, we had a panel featuring City-councilwoman Alejandra Salinas, Professor Reed of UHLC, and Destiny Anguiano the President of LLSA.
